Grant and I were in junction this weekend filling feeders, trimming out shooting lanes etc. We had to fill the water tank and went into junction to do so. While filling the 525 gallon tank we blew out one of the dry rotted tires on the trailer. The owner of kimble processing lives just across the street from where we were and came over to see if he could help us out. He introduced himself as, Victor Hurbest and said he had an air compressor in his truck that we could use if we needed too. The tire was D-E-A-D. Needless to say, the air compressor would not have helped in this situation. So I said "well, I'm gonna walk up to the service station and get them th help us out". Victor then offered us his brand new Chevy truck and told us to "take the pickup and go on and get what ever you need in town". I was floored, only in a small town like junction would you find someone so trusting and willing to help. We went over to the "tire and lube" shop, borrowed a 3.5 ton floor jack (remember the water tank trailor is full, 525 gal.) and jacked up the trailer, got the tire off and took it back to get a new tire on it. Anyways, we got the tire fixed, then we helped Victor put a tire on his horse trailer, talked to him about the good rains junction has had and the influx of free range axis (we saw 3, 20+ head herd of axis in different locations in Kimble County in 1 day). I now understand the importance of being a good samaritan and helping out other people even if you don't know them. We met some of the nicest people when we were in need of help and they never once asked for anything in return (though we did fill up victors truck for him since he just gave it to us to use). The moral of the stry is, when you see some one in some trouble and you can spare a little time, help out! It will make you feel good, the person whom you are helping will greatly appreciate it and may be inclined to help someone else in need. What goes around comes around. Thanks to the people in Junction, you guys brightened up my day and made me look at the world a little differently.
